Puerto Rican (PR)

The Puerto Rican strain was discovered near the town of Canovanas, Puerto Rico.

Collected from bovine dung by Drew in 2018.  It has been domesticated to a stabile point, producing consistent, large cap flushes time and time again. The caps feature the classic golden tint so common of psilocybe cubensis mushrooms. The stems are large and dense, and the strain produces a great deal of spores on first and second flushes.

Many know the Puerto Rican mushroom strain for its rizomorphic mycelium that causes fast and aggressive growth. This is great for any level researcher as it means the spores will be resilient. As it matures, it becomes a mushroom fruit that has a a white/grey stem that is of medium density. The caps are golden in color with brown streaks throughout.

Like many mushrooms the cap is hemispherical and flattens with maturity leaving its veil on its stem.

Whether your are just starting to study spores, or have been doing so for years, the Puerto Rican mushroom strain should be a great strain for research.
