Steel Magnolia (SM)

Steel Magnolia is a cross between Blue Magnolia and the Penis Envy mushrooms.

Steel Magnolia Rust can grow quite large. The cylindrical stem is slightly larger at its base than towards the cap. The texture of that base can be smooth or slightly fibrous. The cap can look either smooth or somewhat scaly and range in color from a light beige to a deep, rich brown. Its rounded, dome-like caps grow to a diameter of 2-4 inches.

The rounded caps of Steel Magnolia Rust mushrooms typically flatten with age and eventually curve upward like an umbrella set on end to dry. That upturn exposes the mushroom's light beige to dark brown gills, which helps facilitate the release of the fungi's smooth, elliptical, rust-colored spores. The visual/ functional trait is common among mushroom species and helps ensure efficient propagation.

Steel Magnolia Rust is a medium to high potency strain with dosage-dependent effects lasting up to six hours. Its overall impact is most often described as exhilarating, euphoric, and warm. Although individual results can vary, the onset of those potentially positive effects are apparent within 10-40 minutes post-ingestion. Although Steel Magnolia Rust is a variant of the Steel Magnolia mushroom, many consumers feel the effects are not quite the same.
